Golf: There are 7 Golf courses in Hobe Sound. Heritage Ridge and Lost Lake can both be played as either members or on a daily basis. The Medalist, Mac Arthur, Loblolly Pines, Hobe Sound Golf Club and the Jupiter Island courses, are private courses for members only.

Maltz Theatre: Just south of Hobe Sound in Jupiter the Maltz Theatre which was originally the Burt Reynolds offers some of the finest entertainment in the area. Beaches: There are two beach areas in Hobe Sound. The North beach offers extensive area for swimming, walking and fishing. The South Beach has a lifeguard and is great for families. There are facilities, an outside shower and a picnic area.

Town: Bridge Road is the main street and has the charm and atmosphere of a by-gone era. Small shops and restaurants are all within walking distance. Across the Highway is Harry and the Natives. You can't fully enjoy Hobe Sound until you have experienced a greeting and meal there.

Jonathon Dickinson State Park: This 11600 acre park offers hiking trails and is part of the more than 1300 miles of the Florida National Science Trail. Camping and boating is also available. 772-546-2771

The Nature Conservancy's Blowing Rocks Preserve: At high- tide when ocean conditions are just right, the sea breaks against the rocks and sprays saltwater up to 50 feet skyward. The conservancy is not only beautiful but is a model for native plant restoration, sea turtle protection and eco-system management. 561-744-6668

Florida Oceanographic Society: The Coastal Science Center houses a library, aquarium and a research facility. It also operates and maintains the Coastal Weather stations for the local area. The Visitors Center is free with a Society membership. 772-225-0505

Sailfish Capital of the World: Hobe Sounds sister city of Stuart holds this title. Charter boats are at the ready for all types of fishing.

Night Life: Hobe Sound and the neighboring town of Stuart abound in fine restaurants to suit all tastes.

The Lyric Theatre: It is a Mediterranean -Revival Style and was built in 1925. It has recently under gone a full renovation and is in the National Historic Register. It offers Broadway shows and well known celebrity performers year round. 772-220-1220. Box office 772-286-7827

The Barn Theatre: Little theatre performers showcase their talents in several shows a year. Expect a fun event in casual surroundings. 772-287-4884
